Total Tourists!

While we’ve been here in the States we haven’t really had a chance to follow the traditional tourist trail ... until now! Grateful that we budget a bit each month for ‘holidays’, so it doesn’t come as too much of a shock to our bank balance, we spent the lot on two unforgettable days here in Florida. And had the BEST time!

With Orlando only two hours drive from where Mark is working we set our sights on both the Magic Kingdom at Disney and Seaworld ... and watched as dreams really did come true. We did one trip each weekend we were staying in Florida ... having fun on the Saturdays and then recovering each Sunday!!

Disney was out first trip, a 14 hour day as it turned out but totally worth it! Abigail got to meet and chat with four of the Disney Princesses, thankfully including Cinderella and Rapunzel, her two favourites.

Whether it was going on a ride or just getting a chance to do some colouring, her excitement was evident even when she was totally exhausted towards the end of the day. Naomi wasn’t too fussed, snoozing on and off and more interested in the snacks we brought with us than the characters!

We watched one of the shows by Cinderalla’s castle, hosted by none other than Mickey Mouse himself.

Shortly after that excitement, we enjoyed a street parade ... that we got to dance with a lot of the characters in. Both the girls enjoyed the music and were busy waving back to all the performers. One highlight for Abigail was dancing with Jessie, her favourite Toy Story character!

There was definitely a lot of goofiness going on that day!

Seaworld was our second trip and being Easter weekend was crazy busy but still totally brilliant. Our first priority was to catch a couple of the shows, especially the ones with the dolphins and killer whales. The animals were breathtaking, the shows were amazing and all four of us were captivated.

We visited numerous aquarium exhibits during the day with everything from sea dragons, turtles, rays, bright pink anemones as well as ‘just’ fish!! And we walked through the shark tunnel which was pretty cool too.

The rides and amusements caught our attention for a little bit ... but not as much as the animals ... we just enjoyed walking around and taking it all in, there really was something for everyone!

When the day was over, we found that we had one extra passenger in the car! He has been designated the family whale but has found his way into a certain persons bed every night since ... taking up the majority of the space!

Both these days were so much fun and we’re just so pleased that Mark’s work brought us all down here for a couple of weeks. There will be more about what he has been doing in the hangar at MFI and what the rest of the family have been up to soon.
